A new evidence shows Javan tiger may still exist in the rainforest

According to Jakarta mass media report, in East Java there is a new evidence shows that the Javan tiger may still roaring in the wild recently, it was officially declared extinct in 1994. The head of the Meru Betiri National Park in East Java Bambang Darmadja said that his team found the big cat’s paw prints and droppings in the forest



The 58,000-hectare park, centered around Mount Betiri and straddling the districts of Jember and Banyuwangi, was the last known shelter for the Javan tiger. The last recorded sighting of the species in 1976 was made here.
