Documentary film “Addiction Incorporated” relentlessly reveals the truth of tobacco industry

“Addiction Incorporated” opened Wednesday in Manhattan, produced by Charles Evans Productions, Hanway Films and released by Variance Films. It relentlessly reveals the truth of tobacco industry during the running time of 1 hour 42 minutes.

This documentary film was shot straightly in the tobacco factory and it should be hard-hitting and definitely annoy the cigarette manufacturers. It would damage the poetic image of puffing. The false impression of cigarette will be rose by the test rats which hit by nicotine soon died after 90 puff equivalents a day.

The key man in this film is Dr. Victor J. DeNoble who was hired by the worldwide Philip Morris Company since 19th century. In 1980 the scientist Dr. DeNoble was requested to test nicotine alternatives for a more heart-healthy cigarette. He quickly discovered that how addictive the nicotine would be. In his lab he found the test rats could not get through their day after attacking by the everlasting nicotine hits. He and his teams all were astonished at this finding. They proposed the experimental result to the company and were requested to keep their mouths shut, the cigarette company suppressed the finding on nicotine. Dr. DeNoble unexpectedly also discovers the ingredients of addiction and fuels a national campaign to have it regulated. Then they all were fired!

The cigarette company is the least friendly company to the environment. It neglects people’s health for its own benefit. All the cigarette companies in the western countries not only produce and sell the tobacco in their countries, also bring it to the oriental countries and to all over the world. They earn the sudden and huge benefit from it, neglect people’s health, the environmental protection and the disease control.

The director Charles Evans Jr. trusts Dr. DeNoble to provide the matter in clear and original condition. This documentary film not only shows the humanity concern, also lays out a meticulous, methodical timeline of moral and legal conflict. A mob of scientists, politicians, journalists and legal experts are wrangling for their own benefits.

The animation in this film shows the anthropomorphized cheeky rats and the dash, swagger of a team of Louisiana lawyers burn through the factual fog, such familiar video clips remind us of the heroes and villains in the story.
